Description

Inspired by the Japanese obi, our Tai Muang belt is an original OPT design you won’t find anywhere else! The obi belt is crafted from Tai Muang textiles, woven with silk and cotton on six paddle looms. The Tai Muang of northern Lao are masters of the six paddle loom, and weave striking geometric motifs.

This design is a collaboration through our Village Weavers Project. Once the artisans finish the weaving, we cut and sew the obi belt at the Living Crafts Centre. Pairs well with our Kimono Cotton Jacket.
