Description

Rice paddies are everywhere in Laos, and their beauty and profundity never cease to amaze us. Mrs. Bouaphanh, one of our master weavers, agrees, and she admits that rice is not only her go-to inspiration but also her favourite thing to eat!

Woven using the kit or supplementary weft weaving technique, one of the three weaving techniques most commonly seen in Lao textiles. Do you know the other two? One is namlai, or tapestry and other one is chok, or discontinuous supplementary weft.
