Description

These striking necklaces really tell a story; featuring shibori dyed silk and upcycled UXO from Laos. Did you know that over 270 million cluster bombs were dropped in Laos during the Vietnam war and up to 80 million did not detonate. Nearly 40 years on, less than 1% of these munitions have been destroyed.

NGOs like Legacies of War lobby the US government for funds to help clear these bombs. When they are cleared a village in central Laos melts the shrapnel and it’s sold for a variety of purposes. We buy the metal and an artist creates the metal balls featured in these necklaces. Support our Village Weavers Project and contribute to the clearance of bombs in Laos.

Due to the handmade nature of this product, it is only available in multi-colour fabrics. Please add comments at checkout if you have a preference for the colour. We can offer: Blue; Pink; Purple.

  • Material: Cotton, up-cycled bomb fragments
