Description

Part of the ancient Silk Road, Lao artisans were often inspired by the garments of passing traders. Our Shanghai silk shirt is inspired by classic Chinese garments and buttons popularised during the Tang dynasty.

In our version, we use natural, handwoven Lao silk dyed in jewel tones, plus the classic Mandarin collar, cap sleeves and braided button closures. The silk comes from our partner artisans in northern Lao, and the shirt is sewn at the Living Crafts Centre.
