Akha communities in northern Laos’ Phongsaly Province decorate their clothing with beads and embroidery. In collaboration with the Village Weavers Project, Akha artisans have adapted this traditional skill to create sweet little earrings embroidered with pumpkin-inspired motifs.

Steamed pumpkin, plus other vegetables, and spicy jeow or dipping condiment, are enjoyed at mealtimes in Akha communities. Lightweight and easy to wear, they are great for all ages. Makes a great souvenir or gift from Laos!
