Description
Katu communities live in southern Laos, and their artisan skills are best seen in their beaded textiles. Using hand loomed cotton grown in southern Laos, they weave on a backstrap loom and insert the beads into the weft to create dynamic motifs.
Stars, fences, seeds and fields are typical motifs that reflect the agrarian lifestyle of the Katu. Our Village Weavers Project has been working with Katu communities since 2008.
We finally bring you a Katu cushion cover which is not on the smaller side, thanks to some added cotton panels. It features zipper closure. Insert not included.
