Description

This beautiful scarf showcases our master weavers wonderful talent. The different motifs featured on this scarf — stripes and hooks — add apparent texture to an otherwise soft scarf. The stripes serve as a reminder of the rice paddies of Laos while the hook motif represents a master key that can open many doors.

Woven using the kit or continuous supplementary weft weaving technique, one of the three weaving techniques most commonly seen in Lao textiles. Do you know the other two? One is namlai, or tapestry and other one is chok, or discontinuous supplementary weft.
