The Mien Yao silk scarf pays homage to the Mien Yao people who live in Northern Laos. Their jackets often feature a single large pattern on the back, particularly the wedding apron often features a diamond shape motif.

We have created a supplementary weave pattern and isolated that in the centre of the scarf. The scarf is made with handspun silk, from Bombyx Mori cocoons. Handwoven at the Living Crafts Centre.
