Description

This richly intricate handwoven art piece is made 100% of silk. Consisting of hundreds of rows of traditional patterns, this textile took over 280 hours to weave. The patterns feature the legendary King Naga, a powerful mythological creature that if appeased will bring great things to one’s life.

This technique of weaving is known as continoius supplementary weft weaving and in the west it’s called brocade. It’s a very complex form of weaving where the weaver creates the over all pattern by weaving row by row of supplementary silk threads to create the finished art piece.
