Description
This hemp and batik masterpiece was created by Mae Tao Zuzong, a Hmong artist living in Luang Prabang. She handrew this cloth with beeswax using a bamboo and copper nibbed pen. The central motifs depict the traditional silver necklaces of the Hmong people.
Usually a cloth will be dip dyed in indigo to attain a contrasting white and blue design, here we have chosen not to dye the cloth but let it stay in its natural colours of hemp and wax.
