Description

This eco-friendly cushion cover is a magnet, drawing many of our visitors to come in for a closer look. Is it the natural indigo blue or the intricate Hmong batik patterns? We think it’s probably a little of both.

The Hmong use a wax-resist dyeing with indigo technique, primarily on hemp fabric, to create these nature inspired motifs that symbolise fields, rice, seeds and mountains. This technique is still practiced in Laos, although the skill is being replaced by printed fabric.

We work closely with Hmong artisans, both in Luang Prabang and surrounding villages, to make these cushion covers.
