Description

Our classic black and white organic cotton shoulder bag is naturally-dyed and hand-woven by Tai Lue women. Known for their weaving skills, the Tai Lue often look to nature and the spiritual world for inspiration.

Gettao in Lao means the back of the turtle and the design of this bag was inspired by the pattern on the back of the turtle. As the turtle, this bag has been slowly made and will last for a long time…

The interlocking black and white fibres create a simple and handsome design. The Tai Lue women weave this fabric several metres at a time, and we sew the bags and put the finishing touches at our Living Crafts Centre. A perfect collaboration!
