Description

Nagas are mythological water serpents that are considered powerful and benevolent spirits. They protect and guide. There are numerous folk tales associated with the Naga, and these stories are often passed on through textiles.

The Diamond Naga, for example, depicts the Prince Naga protecting a rare lotus diamond. The diamond is the Prince Naga’s gift to the parents of his weaver bride. Read the complete story in our description of the Tai Taeng Wall Hanging.
