Description

The subtle patterns and colours of the crab motif rug is part of its appeal. The crab pattern is ubiquitous in Lao textiles. Crabs often flourish in rice paddies, and their presence is a harbinger for an abundant harvest and fertility. The weft threads are made up of 6-8 ply threads, making this collection extremely durable and sturdy.

Handwoven with 100% handspun and naturally grown cotton through our Village Weavers Project. Working from their home village, weavers are able to balance their domestic and child care routines, while still working and earning income.
