Did you know that the villages around Luang Prabang each have their very own speciality? If you read our previous blogs, it’s safe to say that you traveled with us to the Bamboo Village and the Paper Village already. Well, this month, we’re taking you to Ban Chan, the Pottery Village. You have to cross the Mekong to get to Ban Chan. Follow us for a stroll through this village where clay is the material of choice.

Follow us to Ban Xang Khong, the Paper Village

Until a couple of months ago, where the green waters of the Namkhan river meet the earth tone waters of the Mekong river, you could cross the bamboo bridge to Ban Xang Khong, known as the Paper Village. There, along the road of this quaint village, you would see sheets and sheets of handmade paper drying in the sun. Follow us for a stroll through this village where paper is the material of choice.
