1. Sales & Marketing Manager
Ock Pop Tok is looking for a creative, resourceful, and dedicated person to head the marketing and sales for the company.

Job Description:

The role has 2 phases:
Phase 1.  Over a 4 month period directly manage 2 retail locations whilst training your Lao assistant to take over the day to day management of retail and web sales.  Phase 1 gives the marketing manager direct product, merchandising and sales knowledge, which is utilised in Phase 2.

Phase 2. Assess existing marketing and branding activities and strategies.  Conceive and execute marketing activities and strategies for new and existing products and services. Responsible for product and market development; and gathering, analysing, and utilising market research. Manages in store signage and merchandising, advertising and marketing communications activities.

In Phase 2 your time will be spent approximately:

30% on Sales:
1.  Management of operation of retail sales of 2 in town shops.
2.  Management of websales.
3.  Customer Service of 2 in town shops.
4.  Spend time on the shop floor.

50% on Company Marketing:
5.  Web-marketing; blog, fb, website management, bi-monthly newsletter.
6.  Create Promotional Events, Promotions on Products and services, business and “friends” Networks.
7. In accordance with company goals research and develop new retail and wholesale markets.
8. Identifying new ways to market and promote OPT and its activities to tourists and potential partners.
9. Visual Merchandising & Signage of shops, printed marketing and PR.

20% on Product Development
10. Work with Production Team developing new products based on your analysis of sales and your research of current trends and colour forecasting.

Skills and requirements:
Experience in retail management and marketing.
Strong communication and organisational skills.
Strong interest in design, textiles, social development.
Strong computer skills, including the use of Photoshop, Illustrator (or equivalents) and online social networking tools.
You are passionate, committed, have strong eye for detail.
Ideally you are 30+ years, and have worked or travelled in Laos, or South East Asia.
Minimum level of education: Bachelor Degree

The job offers the opportunity to:

Duration of Contract and Working Hours:
This is a two-year position, beginning in May 2012 and ending in May 2014, with possibility of extension.
This is a full-time position. The Marketing Manager will be expected to work approximately 48 hours per week, but flexibly over a five and a half day week.

Supervision:
The Marketing Manager reports to Co-Director, Joanna Smith, with monthly summary reports sent to Joanna Smith & Veomanee Douangdala.

Remuneration:
According to experience. As a small business in Laos, salary is relatively modest yet competitive and adequate to cover expat living costs in Luang Prabang.

2. Inventories Manager

The Inventories Manager is to successfully manage the OPT inventories systems, producing monthly reports for each location and operation of the business.

Reports: To Finance Manager

Reportee: Stock Assistant

Role Description:

The Inventory Manager leads Inventory assistant and works with Finance Manager in implementing and managing of OPT inventory system. The Inventory Manager also works closely with Production Manager, and Sales Managers in providing good flows of information/feedbacks on products between Sales Manager and Production Manager.

Duties and responsibilities

  • Oversee movements of inventory from production and village products to stockroom, from stockroom to shop floors and inter-transfers between each location
  • Implement monthly stock take for 3 shop floors and stockroom
  • Process stock take information create discrepancy report, investigate any discrepancies and report findings to Finance Manager.
  • Ensure high standard practices in stock transferring to and from all locations.
  • Create monthly report on all stock movements.
  • Manage and create reports on products on consignments in hotels and keep records of goods consigned overseas.
  • Oversee quality control conducted by Inventory Assistant
  • Work with Cafe and Villa Managers to ensure inventories are accounted for.

Successful candidate will demonstrate:

  • Experience in managing inventory in retail business
  • A basic knowledge of accounting or logistics
  • Attention to details
  • Good command of English
  • Computer literate especially in excel
  • Ability to work well in a team as well as independently
  • Integrity and uncompromising standards

Main conditions of engagement:

• Salary according to experience and qualifications.
• Based in Luang Prabang, Lao PDR
• Starting date beginning October 2011 or as soon as possible thereafter.
